The worlds of Aerynth continue to grow, change, and expand each and every month. To understand where the game of Shadowbane is heading, you may find it useful to research and explore it's past. Below you will find all the Patch notes for each Shadowbane version since our launch in March of 2003.

 


SHADOWBANE VERSION HISTORY


2005

September Content Patch
- The hit point curve was significantly reduced for monsters over level 40
- Runemasters have a new travel option
- Implemented the Siege Windows of Opportunity
- Implemented a Guild and Nation Message of the Day system
- Mine claim news is now broadcast around the world
- Simple PvP death messages are now sent to the nation channel
- New members are now announced to the guild channel
- You must now wait an hour between changing guilds
- Guild charters are significantly more expensive
- Power mouseovers now report the amount of time remaining to recast
- The group experience and gold grant radius has been reduced
- The tracking HUD can now be resized
- Made adjustments to the Half-Giant Race
- Made adjustments to the Base Classes
- Made adjustments to the Crusader Profession
- Made adjustments Clanwarden, Huntsman, and Saboteur Disciplines

August Content Patch
- Added the Black Market to Sea Dog's Rest
- Added two global chat channels: "/global" and "/trade"
- Added class-specific chat channels
- Improved the ignore functionality
- PvP deaths are now broadcast across the world
- Added "/invite," a command to remotely add members to a group
- Players should no longer get 'stuck' after going through a runegate
- Reduced the group experience and gold grant radius
- Errants no longer appear as though they're guilded with each other on the local map
- Made adjustments to the Black Mask, Gorgoi, Werewolf, and Saboteur Disciplines

July Maintenance Patch
- Fixed the Necromancer Shrine to grant the Necromancy Skill
- Fixed an issue with the Huntsman Power "Skin the Beast" so it will dispel wereforms on the first cas
- Fixed an issue with various run buffs that were causing sync problems
- Fixed an exploit with Backstab being used with ranged weapons
- Flawed and Common magical effects have been replaced with Collector's and Unique magical effects
- Fixed an issue with Stat Refinement; players can no longer lower intelligence if they have skills that are higher than the new max would be

July Content Patch
- Added the new Hot Zone System
- Added announcements for when an attacker wins a siege
- Run is now the default movement speed
- The Death Shroud has been reduced to three minutes
- Decreased the cost to repair items
- Made adjustments to the Crusader Profession
- Made adjustments to the Giant Killer and Prospector Disciplines

Patch 5.5: A Call to Arms Maintenance Patch (June 2005)
- Item Durability Loss is now a flat rate instead of a percentage 
- Fixed various memory management issues

- Made adjustments to the Barbarian and Huntress Professions
- Made adjustments to the Darksworn, Drannok, and Giant Killer Disciplines

Patch 5.0: A Call to Arms (April 2005)
- Added the new Alchemy System
- Added new Gold and Item Limitations
- Added Looking for Group and Looking for Guild flags
- Added a new Hotbar
- Refiner can now untrain Stat Points
- The Tears of Seadron have been upgraded to remove Stat Runes
- Reduced the respawn timer on Discipline Droppers
- Made adjustments to the Confessor, Crusader, Doomsayer, Fury, Nightstalker, Ranger and Warrior Professions

Patch 4.75: Maintenance Patch (February 2005)
   - Fixed various server and client crashes
   - Optimized the Mac client


Patch 4.6: Maintenance Patch (January 2005)
   - Updated the Window of Opportunity for Entropy
   - Made minor User Interface enhancements
   - Implemented various Discipline balance tweaks

2004

Patch 4.5: Maintenance Patch (December 2004)
   - Fixed an issue with illegal change in ownership of Mines
   - Updated the Item Creation Interface
   - Optimized terrain and structure loading

Patch 4.0: Throne of Oblivion (December 2004)
   - Implemented the new Realm and Rulership System
   - Added New Race:  Vampires
   - Added New Classes:  Necromancer and Nightstalker
   - Added New Siege-Oriented Disciplines
   - Added New Island named Oblivion
   - Implemented Phase 2 of Resources

Patch 3.5: Maintenance Patch (August 2004)
   - Implemented the ability to redeed placed Hirelings
   - Updated Adventuring Zone:  Mountains of the Gaints

   - New Race Power: Wildkin's Chase (Aelfborn)
   - Rogue Barbarians granted Medium Armor

Patch 3.0: Secrets of Power (July 2004)
   - Resource System: Phase 1
   - New Disciplines: Prospector, Skydancer, Savant

Patch 2.75: Maintenance Patch (June 2004)
   - Permanently increased experience gain
   - Reduced the dodge ability on NPCs
   - Implemented PvP Kill Messages
   - Increased Level Cap on Safeholds

Patch 2.5: Maintenance Patch (April 2004)
   - Epic Mob: Morcloch's Champion. Elven/Human Bloodlines.
   - New Discipline: Artillerist
   - Templar Love

Patch 2.0: The Rise of the Upstart Gods (March 2004)
   - High level Elven Zone - Aeran Belendor.
   - Epic Mob - Vrannaxxas

Patch 1.5: Maintenance Patch (February 2004)
   - Epic Mob - Draug Torvald. Pet Love, Shade Love. Orc Swamp Zone.
   - New Disciplines: Archmage & Thrall.
   - Siege Spires and Divine Favor Introduced.

Patch 1.0: Winter is Coming (January 2004)
   - Vorringia Map Launch, Restricted Races XP penalty removed.
   - New Disciplines: Berserker, Valkyr, Blood Horn.
   - Were, Huntsman, Scout Love, Open City restrictions.
